I think that's...Yeah, I agree with you there... I think that's a problem with a lot of the media, and really they're playing right into the right-wing playbook. The right will call the media (or their democratic opponents) "too liberal" and cause the media/opponent to overcompensate to move to the center. Through this progress they've moved the center considerably rightward over the last few decades.

Luckily we have the print media which is pretty easy to filter the bias out of. It's amazing how reading requires you to consider the facts, where listening to people tell you stuff really can mislead without literally lying. I like to get my opinion/rallying cry media through video clips like Cenk's here, but to follow it up with a little research and fact-finding through text sources.

Thanks for the comments, by the way!Sean Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15576641403443113250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7298177568177279778.post-9005947834384279412010-11-22T09:28:48.782-08:002010-11-22T09:28:48.782-08:00At the same time, however, they are being slammed ...At the same time, however, they are being slammed by the right for being "too liberal." I think it is difficult as a news organization these days to try to remain objective, because often times it seems like the left and the right have two different versions of the truth.Gwenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09570645743029471164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7298177568177279778.post-65960450808711683492010-11-21T17:28:44.951-08:002010-11-21T17:28:44.951-08:00I've become more and more disillusioned with N...I've become more and more disillusioned with NPR lately. They frequently promote a conservative monetary policy and continue to perpetuate the myth that Social Security will be bankrupt in 2037. They've also taken a more middle-of-the-road "let's hear all sides of the story" approach to climate change. I used to listen to them all the time, but I've heard too many stories perpetuating right-wing myths... if I can debunk something with a quick visit to Snopes or Politifact, NPR should be able to as well.Sean Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15576641403443113250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7298177568177279778.post-9731212731694315612010-11-21T17:17:41.358-08:002010-11-21T17:17:41.358-08:00But, truly, even if they make a good point now and...But, truly, even if they make a good point now and then, cable news is unnecessary. Especially, if you can find your local NPR station.Gwenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09570645743029471164noreply@blogger.com
